Court, County, and Drug Testing Delays

We are closely monitoring nationation wide delays, closures, and access restrictions. In order to keep our clients up-to-date on delays and closures that may affect the turnaround time of background check reports, we update this page weekly with new information.  Please note we cannot guarantee accuracy of the information provided.

AZ Maricopa Limited case information is available on the PATs, specifically details regarding charges, offense levels, and sentences/dispositions. The court clerks are being consulted on the matter to help fill in information and restore the PAT, but delays should be expected until the issue has been resolved. 1/23/2025 None
CA All Jurisdictions Due to redaction of PII information and sentencing details, please expect delays if clerk assistance is required or if a court is entirely clerk searched. 5/18/2023 None
CA Alpine, Mono, Plumas, Tehama Searches in Alpine, Mono, Plumas, and Tehama Counties are fully clerk-assisted, resulting in extended turnaround times due to limited clerk availability. Please anticipate delays. 8/8/2025 None
CA Sacramento, Siskiyou, Solano Personal identifiers have been removed from public access. Searches with no name matches are returned as clear quickly. Searches with name matches require clerk assistance, resulting in delays due to limited appointments, restricted file pulls, and clerk shortages. 8/8/2025 None
CA San Joaquin Clears are quick. However, for any hits case files need to be ordered from an offsite location and appointments are required. Expect lengthy delays.   None
CT All Jurisdictions Clerks have enacted a 50 cases per day limit for confirming PII; please start expecting delays 3/10/2023 None
GA All Jurisdictions Staffing shortages causing delays for all searches (GCIC, etc.). In addition, many GA counties are in remote areas and appointments for court runners are only available on specific days of the week.   None
GA Bibb Two separate PATs must be searched, and limited time is allotted at each. Searches are clerk-assisted. 5/30/2025 None
GA Clay Only 1 PAT available and court runner visits biweekly. Delays on file pulls are to be expected.   None
GA Gwinnett 1-hour appointments; all case files must be requested for any records; please expect extensive delays 5/11/2023 None
GA Richmond Remote access has been removed by the court. Only three computers are available for researchers. Continue to expect delays. 6/30/2023 None
IL St. Clair New site no longer has DOBs. Clears are quick, but possible records require clerk-assistance to obtain additional identifiers. Expect TATs of up to two weeks 6/20/2025 None
KY Graves Only 1 PAT available and time is limited. Expect delays.  2/1/2024 None
LA New Orleans (Civil) Civil court searches are currently unavailable due to ongoing restoration efforts. No timeline for resolution has been shared by court clerks, but delays are to be expected. 10/30/2025 None
ME ALL Staffing issues causing delays for hits; please expect delays; TAT 10 - 15 business days. 2/1/2024 None
MI ALL New expungment law in effect. This is creating delays for any searches in all counties as clerks need to comply with the new law BEFORE they can fulfill any search requests. This has created chaos as some courts are choosing not to fulfill any requests while others are keeping a 5-year scope to see if requests can be cleared; please expect extensive and long-lasting delays. 2/1/2024 None
MI Ottawa All orders in Ottawa, MI  require clerk-assistance due to limited information available on the primary index. Clerks are allowing only 5 name searches per day to be submitted for review. Please expect a TAT of up to 4 weeks in this county. 9/12/2024 None
MS All Jurisdictions Staffing issues causing delays; most courts do not have electronic access; average TAT 28 days+ 2/1/2024 None
NH All Jurisdictions Clerks are about a month behind on background checks due to staffing shortages. Expect delays in all NH counties (2-3 weeks).   None
NV All Jurisdictions Quest has lost state licensing for performing drug tests. Starting immediately Quest will no longer be offering drug test locations in Nevada 4/13/2023 None
NV Lander, Mineral, Pershing A digitization project for all records prior to 2019 is in progress. Any possible records located before 2019 which have not yet been scanned will remain on indefinite hold until they are digitized, as the clerks are unable to retrieve documents from the scanning project. 9/26/2024 None
NV Clark Archives cases will be delayed; expect delays. Current TAT is 15 business days 8/19/2022 None
NV Douglas Staffing shortages causing delays for hits. Results must be delivered via snail mail causing delays of 15-20 business days. 2/1/2024 None
NY All Jurisdictions NY state regulations no longer allow instant drug tests. All drug tests ordered/performed in NY need to be standard drug tests.  2/1/2024 None
OH Butler The Middletown City Court in Butler County, Ohio, is currently closed due to a recent cybersecurity incident. At this time, there is no estimated timeline for when the court will resume operations. As a result, any orders requiring records from this court may experience delays 8/22/2025 None
OH Lake The Mentor Municipal Court in Lake County, Ohio, is currently closed due to a recent cybersecurity incident. At this time, there is no estimated timeline for when the court will resume operations. As a result, any orders requiring records from this court may experience delays. 10/30/2025 None
TN Bradley Clerks work by appointment only. Appointments are available only 2 - 3 days week 3/6/2023 None
TN Cumberland Clerks work by appointment only. Appointments are available only 2 - 3 days week 3/6/2023 None
TN Hickman Appointments only; appointments available for CRAs only once a week; expect delays 3/6/2023 None
TN Marion Searches are completed by court clerks. The court is currently understaffed, so searches are taking longer than normal. Minor delays are to be expected. 6/6/2024 None
TN Rutherford The Rutherford County court has implemented a policy to remove all personal identifiers from publicly accessible records. Court clerks are unable to provide any identifying information, and all case copies ordered will have personal identifiers redacted prior to release. The clerks have advised us that they are experiencing significant staffing shortages, which, combined with the system outage, has resulted in a substantial backlog of requests. As a result, the turnaround time for these requests may be extended by several weeks. 7/24/2025 None
