New Product Announcement - CAPS Check

Written by Vanessa Mitchell | Tuesday, 22 January 2019

The Colorado General Assembly recently passed legislation requiring specific employers to conduct a CAPS Check. CAPS Check, or Colorado Adult Protective Services Data System, is utilized to reveal if an applicant has history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. This is a required check for anyone working with an at-risk adult. The required implementation date for the CAPS Check was January 1, 2019.

A list of employers who are required to request a CAPS check prior to hiring an employee can be found here.

Ready to get started? Choice Screening can run the CAPS check on your behalf. First, employers must register with the CAPS Check Unit in order to obtain an Employee ID#. Then, contact your sales advisor or our service team with the Employee ID#. We will also add the CAPS Check to your background check packages. Then you are ready to order!
